12/2/09: This beer has been lab tested and sampled by thousands of babies, and they all approved by vomiting profusely. Okay not really but who knows it might quiet down a cranky baby if you give it a spoonful like the label shows? Beer is some damn good medicine and I have a feeling my mom spoon fed me beer as a child. That would explain a lot.

Anyways onto the beer. This stuff is damn tasty. I would let this one sit out of the fridge for about 10 minutes to get a little bit warm because its much more flavorful that way. Bold but smooth coffee and chocolate flavor. Oddly it also has a little bit of a buttered toast taste to it.

Beer 23 – Jefferson’s Reserve Bourbon Barrel Stout

What makes this beer different: Watery for a Barrel Stout

Will I be drinking this again: Probably not

Grade: B

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of consuming mass amounts of fermented beverages.

Okay that’s not what it said, but it should have because beer is proof God loves us, and I feel like we should have something in writing pertaining to that fact.

This beer was a little bit underwhelming for a Bourbon Barrel style beer. It lacks punch. A bit thin but still has a pretty good flavor to it. Has your typical Stout characteristics with a bourbon/hairspray kick? Not sure how to describe this weird flavor I am getting but its a little funky. Probably will avoid this one in the future.
