5/1/2010: Another beer sent to me by Chris. He is also sending me a 2010 Dark Lord sometime in the near future. Can’t wait to see what all the fuss is all about in regards to Dark Lord.

I have been very open to, and even started liking a lot of hoppy beer, but this one was just a bit much for me. The smell is very hoppy, with some sweet malt in the background. I know they used a ton of different hops to flavor this beer, but the one that is standing out to me the most is a bitter resony pine hop flavor, which is not one of my favorites. There is a decent amount of malt going on but not quite enough for me. The alcohol isn’t hidden all that well either. I guess I am not a true hop head as I didn’t really enjoy drinking this all that much. That being said I am sure there are people that love this beer.

Picture of the day: I shall call him Mini-Schrute.
