Beer 97/365 – De Dolle Bos Keun

Style: Belgian Strong Pale Ale

Purchased at: Vintage Estate – Boardman OH

What makes this beer different: Most amazing head ever (pervs)

Will I be drinking this again: Man its pricey at $6 a pop but I probably will.

Grade: A

2/13/2010: Isn’t the head of this beer what you would picture the clouds in heaven looking like? Well if you believe in that sort of thing. I bought this because of a recommendation from The Belgian Beer Shrimper. He has been to the brewery and has a really nice writeup about his visit, go check it out.

The head on Bos Keun was spreading like a virus when I poured the beer. I literally had to wait almost 10 minutes to get the whole thing poured. This is one of the sweeter Belgian’s I have had, but its not too sweet. The smell is sweet honey. The taste is kind of citrusy, with a nice dose of honey. There’s not many beers I have tried that have honey in them that I DON’T like. The mouthfeel is what makes this one. So creamy and smooth. The 10% alcohol is hidden extremely well also. Don’t drink the bottom though because it looks like someone took a tablespoon of dirt and threw it into the beer (yeast). But I am sure thats why the head on this beer was so plentiful.

Funny Picture of the day: This picture basically sums up everything wrong with America.
