What makes this beer different: Very tart/lemon
Will I be drinking this again: Maybe in the summer months
2/06/2010: Had this one sitting around for a few months now. It is my first Berliner Weissbier. The style is described as “top-fermented, bottle conditioned wheat beer made with both traditional warm-fermenting yeasts and lactobacillus culture. They have a rapidly vanishing head and a clear, pale golden straw-coloured appearance. The taste is refreshing, tart, sour and acidic, with a lemony-citric fruit sharpness and almost no hop bitterness.” That pretty much hits the nail on the head to describe this beer.
Just like the description of the style from beeradvocate, the head disappears very quickly. The smell is almost like lemonade. The taste is very tart lemons, but I like tart. Almost like fresh squeezed lemonade that doesn’t have quite enough sugar. A bit of the typical wheat taste you get with a wheat beer, but not a lot of it. Light bodied. Overall this would be an awesome beer on a really hot summer day, although I would like to see a bit more alcohol in it as its only 3.1%.
Funny Picture of the day: Everyone loves bacon right? How about bacon flavored envelopes. Props to the girlfriend for finding this one.
