Purchased at: Vintage Estate – Boardman OH
What makes this beer different: Lots of Brown Sugar
Will I be drinking this again: Yes
Grade: B+
1/26/2010: The girlfriend made me get this one because of the Labrador on the label. At least she didn’t make me buy her a real dog, although by the time I am done with the 365 beers I probably will have spent enough to buy a couple purebreds.
Ellie’s Brown Ale is a very easy drink. Smell and taste are both brown sugar up front, and a little bit of a toffee type taste to it. Mouthfeel is light to medium, but very creamy for a brown ale. This beer is very sessionable (for those who don’t know that means able to drink more than one of these). Nothing too “wow” about this one but to me most brown ales aren’t meant to wow you.
Funny Picture of the day: I’ve had a job or two similar to this one.
