Purchased at: Vintage Estate
What makes this beer different: Citrusy
Will I be drinking this again: Yes
Grade: A
1/06/2010: So when I first got into craft beer years ago I thought all wheat beers were in the same “category”, but apparently I was wrong. Dark Wheat, Pale Wheat, Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen, Witbier just to name a few. This one falls into the Witbier category. Witbier typically is a Belgian style wheat ale, unfiltered, cloudy, with coriander and citrus type spices added in.
As soon as you open this one you smell the cirtus, mostly lemon, along with some grain smell and coriander. The taste is SUPER smooth; typical wheat beer flavor but with a nice punch of lemon. It goes down unbelievably easy. I actually drank this after finishing a big meal, and it still went down quicker than any of my prior 58 beers. If I had the money I would stock my fridge with this stuff and use it as my go-to session beer, and because of that fact it gets a rare ‘A’ grade from me.
