Bonus Beer – HopCat Bumble’s Bounce

Style: American Porter

Purchased at: HopCat Taphouse

What makes this beer different: All spice and Cinnamon

Will I be drinking this again: If I ever end up back at hopcat yes for sure.

Grade: A-

1/02/2010: Had this on tap at HopCat in Grand Rapids. They recently started brewing their own beer, and I am always up for trying a new porter or stout. If you live in the area and haven’t been to HopCat, you need to stop by as they have one of the largest tap menus I have ever seen.

Smells a lot like Cinnamon Oatmeal. You can without a doubt taste the All-Spice right off the bat, with a little bit of cinnamon in the background. This beer was unbelievably smooth, and I sense they used some kind of oatmeal in the brew (even though thats not usual for porters). The spice taste fades away about halfway down and ends up drinking much more like a stout than a porter. Medium to Heavy mouthfeel. I was getting sick of your run of the mill porters, and this one was a nice change.
