Beer 16 – Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

Style: American IPA

Purchased at: Vintage Estate

What makes this beer different: Balances hops nicely with malt

Will I be drinking this again: Probably but will not go out of my way to get it.

Grade: B+

11/25/09: A lot of purists love this beer, but this one was just over average for me. Mostly because I don’t like overly hoppy beers. Although this one balances it out with just enough malt, so this one just borders the too hoppy line for me. Slight caramel aftertaste to this one.

  1. Had this last week at a Phish show, $2 in the parking lot. Don’t know if they hippie knew what she had in her cooler. A great deal, but way to hoppy for me.

  2. IPA is my favorite. You’ll definitely have to make sure to drink some brews from Portland, Oregon. Yummm yummm! Goes down smooth. I like your blog…I think I might just add it to my roll.

    • I have had a couple Rogue beers that I like… Are there any other beers form Oregon you would suggest?

      • Deschutes Brewery and Hopworks Brewery are two breweries in town that brew delicious HOPPY IPAs.
